The General Counsel provides legal advice to the Cabinet Secretary, the Assistant Secretary and the Division Directors on the programmatic and
business affairs of the agency. In addition to serving as a legal policy analyst and advisor on the Cabinet Secretary's senior executive staff,
the general counsel is also responsible for drafting legislation, appearing before legislative committees, drafting rules, and conferring with
legislators regarding matters involving the Department of Environmental Protection. Other responsibilities of the general counsel include
providing the Cabinet Secretary and executive staff advice on contractual and human resource matters.
